House Prices terrorize Villages

English villages face an unsure future since young families and first-time buyers are under pressure to purchase houses in the countryside, according to a new report. The study found that the high price of property coupled with the low salary of rural workers is generating "indefensible pressures" that terrorize the future of rural communities. Without the families desirable to keep schools and shops living, it is feared that villages would become limited to the wealthy.

"For this third category, a lack of economic activity will squeeze out local schools and force shops to close as they won't be getting the hold up they need to thrive." The standard house price in the Cotswolds, for example, is £328,980, nearly 20 times higher than the average salary.
