World's Tallest Buildings and Towers

When trying to find the height of world's tallest structures, there is always a controversy if it is the world's tallest tower or world's tallest building. There is a difference between a tower and building. A building is an individual structure, made from cement, steel, iron and bricks. Building is a structure that has numerous floors and rooms, in which people can live or stay. However a tower is a tall structure used for broadcasting television and radio frequencies. It can also be telephone towers, which are generally at the height of about 2000 feet or 600 meters. Here a tower doesn't have any floors, rooms or windows. The tallest standing structure is the transmission antenna KVLY-TV Mast, which is 2063 feet height made from bare metal and supported by guy-wires. This tallest tower is located in North Dakota in United States of America.

The world's tallest building is the Burj Dubai located in United Arab Emirates, which is under construction and it is expected to complete by 2009. This structure will break the existing records for the world's tallest building. Followed by Burj Dubai, the Sears Tower in Chicago is the tallest structure which even has its own address; 233 South Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois 60606 USA. The Petronas Twin Towers, which is also simply called 'Twin Towers' is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Petronas Towers is the tallest twin building. Taipei 101 is again another tallest building with 101 floors, located in Taipei, Taiwan. Taipei 101 is the world's tallest completed skyscraper, designed by C.Y. Lee & Partners which even received the Emporis Skyscraper Award in 2004. Such remarkable structures are the greatest achievements of mankind and make us proud.
