Korean traditional frame houses


A Korean house is built with a rooms and a big wooden floor in the center. Houses from other lands are regularly simple frame houses but they have either rooms only, or just a wooden floor. In Northern regions houses are closed private home called "umjib" and in Southern regions houses are open and are in a hut-like structure. You could easily spot traditional houses in Kahwaedong. It used to be a wealthy district where aristocrats used to live. Explore and be amazed how this traditional site can be located along with modernized buildings.

If you look closely at Korea's roofs, you'll see the no roofs are flat. Almost all are in shapes of curved lines and surface. The curves of the roof show the uniqueness of Korean architecture. It is not known when tiles were first used. Before using tiles (kiwa) people had used plates of wood and bark but most were covered with bundles of grass.

Layout for house plans


Ideally, architects of houses design rooms to meet the requirements of the people who will live in the house. Such designing, known as interior design, has become a very popular subject in universities. Feng shui, originally a Chinese method of situating houses according to such factors as sunlight and micro-climates, has recently expanded its scope to address the design of interior spaces with a view to promote harmonious effects on the people living inside the house. Materials for tree houses


Tree houses can be built with a wide variety of materials. Wood is commonly used for structural parts and cladding due to its power, light weight and low cost. Steel is used for brackets, cables and bolts, including specialized tree bolts capable of supporting up to 6000 pounds (2700 kg). Builders of tree houses sometimes use recycled materials or parts, such as reclaimed window frames, doors and used lumber. One motivation for this is to promote sustainability by re-using resources. Reclaiming equipment can also save money compared with buying new materials and can add a retro or abstract style to the design of the structure. Fabrics can be used to produce non-rigid temporary structures that are more like tree tents than tree houses.

Tree houses are an option for building eco-friendly services in remote forest areas, because they do not require a clearing of a certain area of forest. The wildlife, climate and illumination on ground level in areas of dense close-canopy forest is not well suitable for human habitation. In some parts of the tropics, normal houses are built in trees or elevated on stilts to keep the living quarters above hazards at ground level, and to keep the occupants and any stored food out of reach of scavenging animals.

Historical houses

A historic house can be a stately home, the birthplace of a well-known person, or a house with an interesting history. Houses were first thought of as historic rather than just interesting, during the early nineteenth century. Historic homes are often eligible for special grant award for preservation. What makes a historic home significant is often its architecture or its significance to the culture or history of an area. There are some organizations that offer services to research the history of your home and history of your home to the site, or search other's history. Historic homes may still be inhabited, and could not be confused with historic house museums.
