House price fell again in April

The average house price fell by 0.3% that month, with the yearly rate of decline remaining at 16.2%, the same as it was in March.
The average home was value 152,898 pounds in April, down by 29,659 pounds over the year. Last week the nationwide building society, one of the UK's biggest mortgage lenders, suggested that UK house prices chosen up by 1.2% in May, the second increase it had recorded in the past three months. That was the newest of a number of pointers suggesting that the slump in the property market may be slowing down.
But with lenders still rationing their lending to both new and existing borrowers, sales are still far lesser than a year ago.
Over the past year though prices have fallen sharply in all places, with the largest fall being recorded in the South West, where prices fell by 18% in the twelve months to April.

Copenhagen's Newer Koncerthuset and Oslo new Opera House



When Oslo's Opera House opened in April of last year, it immediately became one of the Norwegian capital's central attractions. A side promotes to the award-winning building, designed by the local architectural firm Snohetta and popular for its sloping walk-way roof that juts over the harbor, is that after nearly a century of lobbying, Norwegian Opera has a special home and thus a crack at international prominence.
Then, in January, Copenhagen unveiled a big blue cube that also is a main new concert hall. Designed by the French architecture star, Jean Nouvel, this is the largest venue since Walt Disney Concert Hall opened in Los Angeles in 2003 to have acoustics by Yasuhisa Toyota. It was built for the different ensembles supported by Danish Radio, but the DR Symphony, Denmark's most important orchestra, gets the biggest boost.
